Rope Works Kit
A bag full of ropes, what could be more fun for children of all ages! Includes a benefit-risk assessment as well as a safety advice sheet on rope play. Also included are educator notes on ropes as loose parts:
- potential of playing with ropes
- possible learning and development opportunities with rope play
Ropes are one of the most motivational loose parts for young children of all ages to explore, combine and manipulate. A toddler might take a rope for a walk, a four year old might might explore the Schema of 'connecting' through tying a rope around objects, a five year old might start exploring the concept of tying knots, lashing objects together, shaping letters and numbers. Children may involve rope in imaginative play as they take a kitten for a walk or lasso a steer, they may use ropes in active play as a skipping rope, creating a swing or a walking line between trees...such potential.
Includes: short ropes to teach children the skill of tying knots, ropes with a loop to attach on a branch, longer ropes to explore with, 1 red rope of 5.5 meters to make a swing or bigger project, measuring ropes of 1 meter with 10cm markings and 2 carabiners. All included in a bag for adventures into the garden or bush. You will also receive a benefit-risk assessment on using ropes with children and safe play notes. Our ropes are made of colourful polypropylene which is soft on children's hands.
ACTIVE SUPERVISION WILL BE REQUIRED.
